Sedation Dentistry

At Santavicca Dental Professionals, we’re pleased to be able to offer you the comfort and convenience of Sedation Dentistry through our partnership with Dr. Adrienne Williams of Anesthesia Consultants of the Upper Valley, PLLC.

Anesthesia Consultants of the Upper Valley was created to bring Board Certified Anesthesiologists into the offices of local healthcare practitioners to provide professional anesthesia services and support to you, the patient. At Santavicca Dental Professionals, the goal of your Anesthesiologist, Dr. Adrienne Williams, is to insure comfort and safety, whatever the procedure, through personalized, individual care in a comfortable office setting.

Anesthesia is a broad term. There are many different kinds of anesthesia and depths of sedation, ranging from very light to very deep sedation (general anesthesia). Taking your medical history and requested degree of sedation into account, Dr. Williams will work with you to find the appropriate level of sedation/anesthesia for your procedure.

Depending on your treatment and sedation level, you will receive a combination of anesthetics, which might include oral sedation, inhaled nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”), local anesthesia (“numbing medicine”), or intravenous medication(s). Dr. Williams will take the time to explain all options to you beforehand to discern the best course of treatment for your situation.

Your anesthesia care will be administered in accordance with the approved professional safety standards and guidelines mandated by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), and you will be monitored throughout your procedure with ASA-specified monitoring equipment, as is required. Be assured that Dr. Williams will be with you throughout your entire procedure and will continue to care for you as you awaken & recover from your anesthesia.

Dr. Williams and Dr. Santavicca are honored to be given the opportunity to provide you with comfort, both emotionally and physically, through safe, personalized anesthesia care. We very much look forward to meeting you and helping to make your procedure as pleasant as possible.
